Gen Z loves energy drinks
Beverage consumption habits vary significantly across different generations in Canada. A survey found that approximately 63 percent of all Canadian survey participants drank coffee regularly, while energy drinks were not consumed as often. Only 21 percent of all respondents made this statement. Of these, however, most respondents were from Generation Z. 27 percent stated that they drink energy drinks regularly. The oldest generation, Baby Boomers, were basically the opposite and were not regular consumers of the caffeinated drinks. The "Guru" among Canadian organic energy drinks
The trend of replacing unhealthy foods and drinks with healthier alternatives also includes energy drinks. Although there are few major Canadian energy drink brands, there are some niche brands that stand out through organic quality, and natural ingredients. Guru Organic Energy, based in Montréal, Québec, is one of Canada's largest brands known for its organic, plant-based energy drinks. The company's revenue has grown strongly recently and amounted to more than 30 million Canadian dollars in 2024. Of this, only a small portion was achieved in the United States. Most of the net revenue was generated in Canada.Energy drinks are caffeinated beverages designed to increase energy, concentration and performance. They typically contain caffeine, sugar or sweeteners, taurine, B vitamins and herbal extracts. These drinks seem most popular among younger generations, who are also showing interest in reducing sugar consumption and opting for organic drinks.
